Gifts to Jordan

My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep. The more I give to thee, the more I have For both are infinite.

- Juliet,
Romeo and Juliet

In this experiment, I wanted Jordan to celebrate and appreciate something he already possessed: his five senses. I did this by giving him a safe "uh-oh" experience, inundating his senses with a rich assortment of stimuli, and to heighten the event, depriving him of one of his senses (i.e., sight). I wanted to do all this while in no way embarrassing him or putting him "on the spot."

Among the gifts given were novelty, attentiveness, and care. But I received much more than I gave. These gifts include Jordan's trust that I would look after him in this experiment, a feeling of well-being that comes from giving, etc.

Thank you, Jordan, for being such a good sport.
